Join us on May 10th, 2025 in Aylmer, ON for a free community event focused on fraud awareness and responsible electronic recycling.
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to team up with the Aylmer Police Department for a Fraud Prevention and Free Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Aylmer Police Station (20 Beech Street, Aylmer, ON).
This community-driven event offers a unique opportunity for residents to learn how to protect themselves against fraud while responsibly disposing of unwanted electronics.

A Day of Education and Environmental Action
Fraud awareness is more important than ever in our digital age. Aylmer Police will be on hand to offer valuable tips and resources on how to recognize, report, and prevent fraudulent activity—especially targeting seniors and vulnerable individuals. Attendees can speak directly with officers, pick up literature, and ask questions about current scams circulating in the community.
At the same time, ERA will be collecting unwanted and outdated electronic devices from the public—helping to divert e-waste from landfills while supporting secure data destruction and digital inclusion. All items collected will be carefully sorted, securely wiped of data, and either refurbished for donation to a Canadian charity or responsibly recycled.
What You Can Bring:
- Laptops & desktops
- Cellphones & tablets
- Monitors, printers & keyboards
- Cords, cables, and accessories
- Other electronic devices
Please arrive by 10:30 a.m. if you are dropping off a large quantity of items.
Why It Matters:
By donating your electronics, you’re not only helping the environment—you’re also contributing to a meaningful cause. ERA is currently supporting over 500 Canadian charities, schools, and nonprofit organizations that are in urgent need of technology. Each donated device has the power to connect someone to education, employment, and essential services.
Join Us!
We invite the entire Aylmer community to participate in this important initiative. Come learn about fraud prevention and drop off your unused electronics—it’s an easy way to make a big impact.
