The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), in partnership with Halifax Harbour Bridges, invites you to a free community electronics recycling and data destruction event. This initiative is part of ERA’s ongoing effort to support sustainability, safeguard digital privacy, and bridge the technology gap across Canada.
Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Halifax Harbour Bridges, 125 Wyse Rd, Dartmouth, NS
Why This Event Matters
Every electronic device you donate has the potential to change lives. Properly recycling your outdated tech reduces landfill waste and allows ERA to refurbish and redistribute valuable equipment to Canadian charities, schools, and families in need.
Concerned about your personal data? Rest assured – ERA will provide on-site hard drive shredding, giving you peace of mind that your sensitive information is completely destroyed. You can even watch your hard drive being shredded and request a certificate of destruction if needed.
What You Can Donate
We accept a wide range of electronics, including:
- Laptops, desktops, and tablets
- Smartphones and mobile devices
- Monitors, keyboards, and mice
- Printers, scanners, and small office equipment
- Routers, modems, and chargers
- Servers, networking equipment, and unused toners
How to Prepare
- Gather any unwanted or unused electronics you wish to recycle or donate
- If possible, back up your data and remove your hard drives prior to drop-off
- Bring your devices to the event during scheduled hours – we’ll take care of the rest
