Free Electronic Recycling Event at Kingsgate Mall Helps Vancouver Reduce E-Waste

By electronic recycling association May 15, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) invites the Vancouver community to join a free electronics recycling event at Kingsgate Mall from May 22 to May 24, 2026.

This community event gives residents and local businesses a safe and simple way to recycle unwanted electronics. At the same time, it supports environmental sustainability and digital inclusion programs across Canada.

The event will take place at 370 E Broadway, Unit 114 – Administration, Vancouver, BC V5T 4G5. In addition, members of the ERA team will be onsite Friday, May 22, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. They will help with electronics drop-offs and answer questions about responsible e-waste recycling.

Community members can bring:

  • Laptops
  • Desktop computers
  • PC towers
  • Cell phones and tablets
  • Printers and monitors
  • Keyboards and mice
  • Chargers and cables
  • Small electronic accessories

By participating, residents help keep electronic waste out of local landfills. Furthermore, donated electronics may support charities and nonprofit organizations through technology reuse programs.

Supporting Technology Reuse and Digital Inclusion

At ERA Canada, recycling is only part of the mission. Whenever possible, ERA focuses on reuse before recycling. As a result, collected electronics can be refurbished and donated to charities, schools, newcomer organizations, low-income families, and community groups across Canada.

In many cases, access to technology is essential for education, communication, and employment. Therefore, community recycling events like this help reduce the digital divide while supporting sustainability goals.

Keeping Electronics Out of Landfills

Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. If electronics are not recycled properly, they can contribute to pollution and unnecessary landfill waste.

That is why ERA provides responsible electronics recycling and secure data destruction services. In addition, the organization supports refurbishment and reuse programs that extend the lifespan of technology.

ERA helps communities and the environment through:

  • Secure data destruction services
  • Responsible electronics recycling
  • Refurbishment and reuse programs
  • Environmental diversion initiatives
  • Community technology donation programs

Most importantly, extending the life of electronics helps reduce environmental impact and supports people in need.
