On March 28th, 2026, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly partnered with the Police de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu in Quebec to host a free electronics recycling and secure data destruction event for the local community. This initiative helped residents safely dispose of unwanted devices while protecting their personal information.
Together, the event successfully diverted 1,472 pounds of electronic waste from landfills, reinforcing the importance of responsible recycling and reuse across Quebec.
Supporting Environmental Responsibility and Data Security
Events like this highlight the growing need for secure and environmentally responsible e-waste solutions. Many electronic devices still contain sensitive data, making proper disposal essential. ERA ensures that all collected devices undergo professional data wiping or physical destruction, giving participants peace of mind.
At the same time, reusable electronics are refurbished and donated to charities, schools, and community organizations—helping bridge the digital divide while reducing environmental impact.
