From E-Waste to Environmental Impact: ERA Supports Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society

By electronic recycling association February 24, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support local environmental initiatives through technology reuse and community partnerships. Recently, ERA donated six professionally refurbished laptops and two monitors to the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society, helping strengthen their operational capacity and ongoing conservation efforts.

Supporting Environmental Stewardship Through Technology

The Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society plays an important role in protecting and promoting one of Alberta’s most treasured natural spaces – Fish Creek Provincial Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America.

Through education programs, volunteer initiatives, community engagement, and conservation projects, the organization works to preserve the park’s natural ecosystems while encouraging residents and visitors to connect with nature.

Access to reliable technology allows nonprofit organizations like the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society to operate more efficiently, coordinate volunteers, manage environmental programs, and expand outreach within the community.

Technology That Creates Community Impact

The donated equipment will support administrative operations, program coordination, communication with volunteers, and environmental education initiatives.

By providing refurbished electronics, ERA helps nonprofits redirect valuable financial resources toward their core missions rather than technology expenses.

Reuse Before Recycling: ERA’s Sustainable Approach

At ERA, sustainability begins with reuse. Before electronics are recycled, devices are securely data wiped, professionally refurbished, and prepared for a second life supporting charities, schools, and nonprofit organizations across Canada.

This approach delivers a dual impact:

  • Reducing electronic waste entering landfills
  • Expanding digital access for organizations serving communities

Each donated device represents both an environmental win and a meaningful social investment.

Strengthening Local Communities in Calgary

As a Canadian nonprofit organization, ERA continues to collaborate with community groups that share a commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement.

Supporting organizations focused on conservation – such as the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society – reflects ERA’s mission to connect sustainability, technology reuse, and community development.

Together, partnerships like this help build greener, more connected communities across Canada.

Donate Electronics & Support Local Charities

Businesses and individuals can make a meaningful impact by donating unwanted, unused, or gently used electronics to ERA. Donated equipment may be refurbished and redistributed to nonprofits, charities, and community organizations in need.
