The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support EDC: Milestones for Victory in St. John’s, New Brunswick, through the donation a laptop and one projector to help strengthen their community outreach and education programs. As a Canadian non-profit dedicated to reducing electronic waste and increasing access to technology, ERA works with businesses across Canada to securely refurbish and redistribute surplus IT equipment to charities, schools, and community organizations.
This technology will serve as a primary resource for EDC’s presenter team, enabling them to deliver workshops to local partners, schools, and shelters throughout the region. With reliable, portable equipment, EDC can bring educational programming directly into the community, ensuring participants have access to critical information and resources regardless of location.
The donated laptop will also be available to EDC’s sponsees to complete essential tasks such as job applications, bill payments, financial literacy assignments, and education-related work. As a grassroots organization with limited access to technology, EDC has relied heavily on volunteers’ personal devices. This donation helps centralize operations, improve efficiency, and remove barriers to delivering consistent, high-quality programming.
EDC’s long-term goal is to provide each sponsee with access to their own laptop. Until then, this donation plays an important role in supporting day-to-day operations and expanding the organization’s capacity to serve the community.
At ERA, we prioritize data security and environmental responsibility. All donated devices are professionally refurbished, thoroughly tested, and securely data-wiped before being redistributed, following strict data destruction and quality assurance standards. By extending the life of electronics, ERA reduces e-waste, supports digital inclusion, and helps organizations make a meaningful social and environmental impact across Newfoundland and Labrador and throughout Canada.
If your organization is upgrading or decommissioning electronics, partnering with ERA helps ensure your retired IT assets are handled securely and responsibly—while creating real impact in local communities.
