Hack the Holidays Vancouver: Donate Tech, Create Change

By electronic recycling association November 19, 2025

This holiday season, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is partnering with the MIS Club at Acsenda School of Management for Hack the Holidays, a technology donation campaign that supports digital access, community empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

Why This Matters

Access to technology is essential for education, employment, communication, and community support—but many individuals and families still lack the devices they need. By donating your gently used electronics, you help bridge the digital divide and provide meaningful support to organizations across the Lower Mainland.

Through ERA’s charitable computer donation program, all devices are securely data-wiped, refurbished for reuse, or responsibly recycled. Your donation ensures safe handling while keeping e-waste out of landfills.

What You Can Donate

Devices do not need to be fully functional. ERA accepts:

  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Phones
  • Peripherals (keyboards, mice, chargers)

If it plugs in or powers on, ERA can assess and repurpose it.

How to Donate

📅 November 17 – December 13, 2025
📍 Acsenda School of Management – Front Desk: 2nd Floor 666 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC
Dropp off time: Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm

Drop off your gently used electronics at the Front Desk. ERA will collect items every two weeks and ensure secure processing throughout the campaign. After the drive concludes, the MIS Club will release an impact summary highlighting how the donated devices supported the community.

The MIS Club has identified several potential ERA partner organizations as recipients, including:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health
  • Legal Aid BC
  • Zero Emissions Innovation Centre
  • The Bloom Group Society
