The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated two refurbished laptops and three cell phones to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Calgary – Roberts House, helping expand access to essential technology for individuals facing housing instability and mental health challenges.
Many clients arriving at Roberts House have limited to no personal belongings, income, or access to basic technology. Reliable devices play a critical role in helping individuals rebuild stability and independence. Through this donation, ERA is supporting clients in key areas, including education and skill development, access to healthcare and appointments, and connection to daily living and community resources.
As a Canadian non-profit dedicated to reducing electronic waste and increasing digital access, ERA partners with businesses across Canada to securely refurbish and redistribute surplus IT equipment to charities, schools, and community organizations. All donated devices are professionally refurbished and data is securely erased to industry standards, helping protect donor privacy while extending the life of usable technology.
By giving unwanted electronics a meaningful second life, ERA helps bridge the digital divide while keeping e-waste out of landfills. This donation to CMHA Calgary’s Roberts House strengthens frontline mental health services and empowers clients with the tools they need to move forward.
Organizations and businesses across Canada can support local community programs by donating surplus electronics through ERA’s secure reuse and recycling programs.
