ERA Donates Laptops to Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support workforce development and digital inclusion through the donation of six refurbished laptops to the Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre (CONC) in Toronto. This donation will directly benefit participants in CONC’s LGBTQ2SIA+ Employment Program—a vital initiative designed to help marginalized community members gain the tools they need to succeed professionally.
Launched in 2020, CONC’s LGBTQ2SIA+ Employment Program provides essential support to individuals receiving financial assistance through Ontario Works. Participants are offered access to industry-relevant training in administration, customer service, and hospitality, equipping them with the skills needed to enter or re-enter the workforce. The program is delivered in a safe, inclusive, and community-driven environment, ensuring that every participant feels supported throughout their journey.
Thanks to this donation from the ERA, program participants will now have access to the reliable technology they need to complete training, prepare resumes, apply for jobs, and attend virtual interviews—critical steps in achieving employment and long-term stability.

As a registered non-profit organization, the Electronic Recycling Association understands firsthand the financial challenges faced by community-based programs. That’s why ERA works to bridge the digital divide by refurbishing donated electronics and redistributing them to charities, schools, and non-profits across Canada. Every device undergoes secure data wiping and rigorous testing to ensure it is safe and ready for reuse.
With more than 500 organizations on our waitlist, the need for electronic donations is greater than ever. By extending the life of retired devices, we not only divert e-waste from landfills but also create opportunities for individuals and communities in need.
