The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) hosted a community electronics recycling event at Kingsgate Mall in Vancouver, British Columbia, from May 22 to May 24, 2026.
The event gave residents and local businesses an easy way to responsibly recycle unwanted electronics while supporting environmental sustainability and secure e-waste disposal.
Hosted at Kingsgate Mall, located at 370 E Broadway in Vancouver, the event welcomed community members throughout the weekend. Residents safely dropped off laptops, desktop computers, monitors, printers, phones, tablets, cables, keyboards, and other small electronic devices and accessories.
Approximately 250 lbs of electronics were collected during the event. The collected devices were diverted from local landfills through responsible recycling and technology reuse initiatives.
Supporting Responsible Electronics Recycling in Vancouver
The Kingsgate Mall electronics recycling event helped raise awareness about secure e-waste recycling and responsible electronics disposal in Vancouver and across Canada.
ERA staff attended onsite to assist with collections, answer questions about secure data destruction, and educate participants about the environmental impact of electronic waste.
Community recycling events like this help make responsible recycling more accessible while encouraging people and businesses to safely dispose of outdated technology.
Supporting Digital Inclusion Across Canada
One of ERA’s main goals is ensuring that reusable technology continues helping communities whenever possible.
Electronics collected during the Kingsgate Mall event that remain suitable for reuse may be refurbished and donated to charities, schools, shelters, nonprofits, and low-income families across Canada.
By extending the lifespan of reusable devices, ERA helps improve digital accessibility while reducing unnecessary electronic waste. Refurbished computers and devices continue supporting education, communication, employment, and community programs.
Reuse Comes Before Recycling
At ERA, reuse always comes before recycling whenever possible.
Extending the life of functional electronics helps conserve valuable materials, reduce landfill waste, and support a more sustainable circular economy.
Through secure recycling, refurbishment programs, and community collection events, ERA continues helping businesses, organizations, and communities responsibly manage electronic waste across Canada.
