The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), through Madagasikara Fanantenana Teknolojia (MFT), continues to expand access to technology and support digital education in Madagascar.
As part of its collaboration with AKAMASO, MFT recently donated 18 laptops to support students throughout their academic journey. Eleven laptops will serve college learners, while seven laptops will support students at Vincent de Paul University.

Creating Better Learning Opportunities
Access to reliable computers can make a major difference for students.
First, the donated laptops will help learners complete assignments, conduct research, and access educational resources. In addition, students can use the devices to strengthen their digital skills and prepare for future employment opportunities.
As a result, more learners will have the tools they need to participate in an increasingly digital world.

Supporting Education Through Technology Reuse
This donation also shows how technology reuse can create both social and environmental value.
Instead of allowing working electronics to enter the waste stream too early, ERA and MFT help extend their useful life. ERA’s reuse programs prepare suitable electronics for donation to schools, charities, and community organizations that need dependable technology.
Technology reuse can:
- Improve access to digital education
- Support students and teachers
- Extend the life of electronic equipment
- Reduce unnecessary electronic waste
- Create new opportunities for learners
Therefore, every reused laptop can become a valuable educational tool.
Building a More Connected Future
The collaboration between MFT and AKAMASO represents another step toward greater digital inclusion in Madagascar.
With support from partners, donors, and local teams, these initiatives help students gain access to technology while reducing barriers to education.
ERA congratulates MFT, AKAMASO, and everyone who contributed to this donation. Together, we can give technology a second life and help students build stronger futures.
Organizations can support similar initiatives by donating unwanted laptops, desktops, tablets, monitors, and other electronic equipment to ERA.
