Marda Loop

We’re hosting an organized community clean-up event to support our residents in their spring cleaning! For one day only, please bring your large waste items, recyclables, and donation items to the MLCA hall. There will also be a Free Swap Zone for stuff you’d like to swap. Service is free of charge for all Marda Loop Communities residents.

WHAT WILL BE ACCEPTED:

City of Calgary will be on hand to accept:
– Mattresses (please wrap in mattress bags, donated by Sleep Country)
– Yard waste: leaves, branches, plants, and grass clippings. No sod will be accepted. All yard waste must be separated from other materials.
– Large items or waste that don’t fit into your waste and recycling carts.

These other community-minded businesses will be on hand to accept:
– Electronic Recycling Association: home electronics
– Women in Need: women’s and children’s clothing and household goods
– Mustard Seed: men’s clothing
– Kal Tire: tires
– Made by Momma: formula, diapers, strollers, car seats (manufactured from 2012 onwards), baby and toddler clothing, baby monitors, bassinets, etc.
– Bikes for Humanity: bicycles
– Kidsport Calgary: sports equipment in good condition
Calgary Metal Recycling: scrap metal items

Yard waste

Leaves, branches, plants, grass clippings and other yard waste (excluding sod) will be accepted at Community Cleanup events for composting. Yard waste must be separate from other items.

All of the organic materials collected will be taken to one of the Calgary’s composting facilities.
