The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support L’Arche Homefires in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, through a meaningful technology donation that reflects ERA’s ongoing mission to transform surplus technology into powerful tools for community development while reducing electronic waste across Canada.

The Electronic Recycling Association, in collaboration with the Honourable Julie Vanexan, MLA for Kings South, Nova Scotia, donated 3 tablets, 4  laptops, a desktop PC with peripherals, projector, and  cell phone to L’Arche Homefires in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, helping strengthen the organization’s ability to support its community.

Technology That Strengthens Community Care

L’Arche Homefires is a vital community organization that supports adults with intellectual disabilities, creating a home environment rooted in dignity, belonging, and inclusion. Reliable technology plays an increasingly important role in supporting their daily operations, communications, and program delivery.

This equipment will enable L’Arche Homefires to improve administrative efficiency, enhance communication with families and care partners, support resident programming, and expand digital access throughout their organization.

Responsible Electronic Recycling with Real Impact

All donated devices were professionally refurbished and securely data-wiped in accordance with ERA’s national data protection standards before being redeployed for reuse. By extending the life of quality technology, ERA helps organizations like L’Arche Homefires maximize their impact while preventing valuable electronics from entering landfill.

For corporate donors and IT leaders, this donation illustrates how responsible IT asset disposition (ITAD) can deliver measurable ESG value — supporting data security, environmental sustainability, and meaningful community investment through one streamlined lifecycle solution.

Local Leadership, Lasting Change

ERA is honoured to work alongside the Honourable Julie Vanexan in supporting community-based organizations across Nova Scotia. Her commitment to strengthening local services plays a key role in ensuring initiatives like this continue to benefit residents and frontline organizations throughout Kings South and beyond.

Turning Electronics into Opportunity

Through its national reuse-first model, the Electronic Recycling Association partners with businesses, municipalities, and institutions to ensure surplus technology is securely processed and placed where it can create the greatest impact — in charities, schools, and community organizations across Canada.
