Helping People Progress Further
ERA has a long-term partnership with People for Progress. This organization is an education based international charitable organization supporting schools and individual students in East Africa. One of the strengths of their programs is that before they initiate any program they meet with the community, the leaders and the people to hear what they see are the needs of the community and the best way to help them meet those needs.
We were able to donate 2 laptops to this organization and speak to their President and Executive Director in regards to the work they have accomplished across the ocean throughout the years. This donation will help with their awareness campaigns, raising funds for their organization and recording their progress. They can also record their tax returns and create spreadsheets for their income and expenditure reports. These laptops will contribute tremendously when keeping track of all of the students’ records in school.
They hire from the community, but within the community and work with the community. They establish their programs as part of the community and are committed to a sustainable relationship within the community whether through their early childhood development school Raven Education Centre in Dandora Nairobi Kenya or sponsorship of primary and secondary school children in Tanzania and Kenya. They work to ensure that their programs benefit the whole community. Any new programs that are developed will be done in consultation with the leaders, elders and people of the community in which they are undertaken.
