Preserving History Through Technology: ERA Donates iPads to Saskatoon Museum

By electronic recycling association December 16, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Associations(ERA) is proud to support the Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts through the donation of three iPads as part of our annual 12 Days of Christmas Electronics Giving campaign. This donation helps enhance educational programming, museum exhibitions, and community engagement. At the same time, it supports the preservation of Canada’s military history through modern digital tools.

Additionally, this initiative reflects ERA’s ongoing commitment to electronics reuse, e-waste reduction, and supporting community organizations that protect cultural heritage and public education.

Enhancing Museum Education Through Digital Technology

The Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts plays a vital role in preserving and sharing Canada’s military history with the public. Through curated exhibits, guided tours, and community outreach, the museum ensures important historical stories remain accessible to future generations.

How Technology Supports Museum Learning

Access to modern technology allows museums to improve how visitors experience history. For example, digital tools help museums:

  • Enhance interactive and digital exhibits
  • Support guided tours and educational presentations
  • Improve visitor engagement and accessibility
  • Digitally document and share historical materials

As a result, museums can create more engaging and inclusive learning environments.

By donating professionally refurbished iPads, ERA is helping the museum bridge the gap between history and modern learning. This creates more immersive experiences for visitors of all ages.

Technology Reuse That Creates Community Impact

Many museums and cultural institutions operate with limited budgets. Because of this, access to updated technology can be challenging.

However, ERA’s donation of data-secure, refurbished devices ensures organizations receive reliable technology without additional financial strain.

In addition, this approach supports environmental sustainability and community enrichment. Valuable electronics remain in use longer, while electronic waste is kept out of landfills.

ERA’s Commitment to Sustainability and Giving Back

ERA’s 12 Days of Christmas Electronics Giving is an annual initiative that supports charities, non-profits, schools, and community organizations across Canada with essential technology.

Through this program, ERA promotes the circular economy. Surplus electronics are responsibly refurbished and redistributed to support education, culture, and social good.

How You Can Support Community Organizations

Businesses and organizations can make a meaningful impact by donating surplus electronics such as laptops, tablets, monitors, desktops, and accessories.
