Are you looking for a way to help the planet, support local charities, and learn new skills – all at the same time? The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is inviting volunteers to join our mission in Edmonton. Together, we can reduce electronic waste, give technology a second life, and help those who need it most.
Whether you’re a student completing volunteer hours, exploring the tech field, or simply want to give back to your community, this is an opportunity to make a real impact. No prior technical experience is needed – just bring your curiosity, steel-toed boots, and a willingness to help!
What You’ll Be Doing
As a volunteer, you’ll help prepare electronics for reuse, recycling, and donation. Tasks may include:
- Sorting cables, adapters, and other electronic accessories
- Testing and cleaning monitors and other devices
- Removing stickers and preparing equipment for donation
- Dismantling non-working electronics to recover usable parts
- Organizing incoming donations and supplies
- Keeping workstations tidy and safe
You’ll work side by side with an experienced team in a friendly, supportive environment that’s dedicated to sustainability and digital inclusion.
Why Volunteer with ERA?
Volunteering with ERA offers more than just experience – it’s a chance to make a real difference. You’ll:
- Build practical skills in a hands-on tech environment
- Support a greener future by reducing e-waste
- Help ensure refurbished computers reach local charities and individuals in need
