Every device has the power to create a new opportunity.
At the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), we believe that technology should not end its life in a landfill when it can continue making a difference in someone’s life. Through our Reuse For Good initiative, donated electronics are securely refurbished, repurposed, and provided to charities, non-profits, schools, and community organizations across Canada.
Over the past 22 years, ERA has proudly supported organizations that are creating meaningful change in their communities through technology donations.
Recently in Montreal, ERA donated 50 technology devices—including 40 mobile phones, 5 tablets, and 5 laptops—to the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal. These devices are helping Indigenous women and families access education, employment opportunities, essential services, and maintain important connections with their communities.
In Toronto, ERA provided a laptop to The Get REAL Movement, an organization dedicated to combating 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination and racism through educational workshops. The donated device will help their speakers deliver virtual presentations, reach more students across Canada, and continue promoting inclusion and understanding.
ERA also supported Safe Families Canada in Steinbach, Manitoba, with a laptop and monitor donation. These devices are helping staff securely manage family information, coordinate volunteers, and provide critical support services to families facing challenges.
Additional recent donations have helped organizations such as Park Street Education, Autism in Mind, Food Banks Mississauga, Wabanaki Two-Spirit Alliance, Rocky Mountain Adaptive, United for Literacy, and many others continue their important work.
These donations are only possible because of the businesses, organizations, and individuals who choose to donate their retired electronics through ERA. By extending the life of technology, donors are not only reducing electronic waste but also helping bridge the digital divide for communities that need access to technology the most.
Together, we are proving that responsible electronics recycling is about more than sustainability—it’s about creating opportunities, empowering communities, and ensuring technology continues to make a positive impact long after its first use.
If your organization has computers, laptops, tablets, phones, or other electronics ready for retirement, consider donating them to ERA. Through Reuse For Good, your unwanted technology can become a tool for education, employment, communication, and hope.
One device can make a difference. Hundreds of devices can transform communities.
That’s the power of Reuse For Good.
