The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to highlight another successful year of partnership with Southridge School in Surrey, BC, as part of the annual
Southridge Recycling Campaign 2025.
This student-led initiative continues to inspire meaningful environmental action by empowering both junior and senior school students to take responsibility for reducing e-waste in their community. Throughout the campaign week, student teams worked together to collect unwanted electronics for secure recycling – building teamwork, leadership, and a deeper awareness of sustainability.
A Successful Collection Event
Thanks to the outstanding participation from students, families, and staff, this year’s campaign collected an impressive 955 lbs of electronic equipment. These contributions reflect the community’s strong commitment to responsible e-waste management and environmental stewardship.
ERA’s Support and Processing
All collected equipment was securely transported to ERA’s certified processing facility for assessment and handling. Reusable devices will be refurbished and donated to Canadian charities, schools, and nonprofit organizations through ERA’s Refurbish and Donate Program. Items that cannot be reused will undergo ISO 27001–certified data destruction followed by environmentally responsible recycling, ensuring complete data security and minimal landfill impact.
Why It Matters
Each device collected helps reduce electronic waste, supports technology reuse, and contributes directly to communities across Canada. By participating in the campaign, students and families extend the lifespan of valuable equipment while promoting sustainable habits for future generations.
Thank You, Southridge School!
ERA extends its sincere appreciation to the students, staff, and families of Southridge School for their dedication and enthusiastic participation. Your efforts make a real difference – supporting education, innovation, and a cleaner environment.
