The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce a recent donation of a refurbished laptop to the Centre for Newcomers in Calgary, Alberta. This device was provided to one of their clients to help with online classes, job searching, and resume building—key steps toward establishing a new life in Canada.
At the ERA, our mission is to reduce electronic waste by refurbishing donated devices and redistributing them to charities, schools, and individuals in need. Every donation, big or small, has the power to transform lives. For newcomers adapting to a new country, access to technology is often the first step toward independence, education, and meaningful employment.
The Centre for Newcomers plays an essential role in welcoming immigrants and refugees to Canada, offering settlement support, language training, and employment programs. By equipping one of their clients with a reliable laptop, ERA is helping to remove digital barriers and empower them to pursue online learning and professional development opportunities.
This donation is part of ERA’s ongoing effort to bridge the digital divide and promote sustainable reuse of electronics. Through our network of generous donors, we’re able to extend the lifespan of technology while making a real social impact in communities across Canada.
