Supporting Immigrants Through Electronic Recycling in Calgary

By electronic recycling association September 10, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce a recent donation of 17 refurbished laptops to The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) in Calgary, Alberta. This donation will directly benefit newcomers to Canada who are enrolled in TIES’ programs, helping them gain the tools they need to succeed in their education, employment, and integration journeys.

Supporting Immigrants Through Technology Access

TIES is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing immigrants and refugees with language training, employment support, settlement services, and community connections. With the generous donation of laptops from ERA, participants will now have access to reliable technology that is essential for:

  • Online learning and language training
  • Job searching and resume development
  • Virtual interviews and professional networking
  • Staying connected with family and community resources

By putting technology into the hands of those who need it most, ERA is helping bridge the digital divide and ensure immigrants have equal opportunities to thrive in their new communities.

ERA’s Mission: Reuse Before Recycle

At ERA, our mission is to reduce unnecessary electronic waste through the reuse and repurposing of technology. Every device donated not only helps the environment by keeping electronics out of landfills, but also supports charities, nonprofits, and community organizations across Canada.

Through donations like this one, ERA is able to extend the lifecycle of devices while empowering organizations like TIES that make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
