ERA Donates Laptops to Care Through Tech
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Care Through Tech (CTT), a Montreal-based nonprofit working to bridge the digital divide for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. As part of our mission to promote digital inclusion and environmental sustainability, ERA recently donated three refurbished laptops to assist CTT in delivering essential technology to those in need.
About Care Through Tech
Founded in 2020 by McGill University medical student, Care Through Tech is a federally recognized nonprofit that addresses digital inequities by connecting vulnerable populations with technology. CTT partners with local shelters and social service providers to distribute gently used electronics that allow clients to access healthcare, employment opportunities, education, and virtual support networks.
Enhancing Lives Through Technology
ERA’s donation of three laptops will provide CTT clients with critical tools to improve their quality of life. From attending online medical appointments and training courses to applying for jobs and reconnecting with loved ones, these laptops offer more than just connectivity—they offer hope, stability, and opportunity.
This initiative reflects ERA’s broader goal of supporting digital equity by repurposing donated electronics for communities in need, while also diverting e-waste from landfills across Canada.
Join the Movement: Donate Your Electronics
The Electronic Recycling Association is a national nonprofit that refurbishes used electronics and donates them to over 500 Canadian charities, schools, and community organizations. Through our work, we help reduce electronic waste while increasing access to technology for underserved groups.
