Supporting Women Electronic Recycling

By electronic recycling association July 18, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce a meaningful partnership with iSisters Technology Mentoring, a nonprofit organization that provides free technology mentoring programs to women facing barriers to employment, education, and social inclusion.

ERA has donated 10 refurbished laptops to support iSisters in delivering accessible digital literacy training across the Ottawa region. These laptops will be used to help women gain the skills and confidence they need to pursue personal and professional growth through education and employment opportunities.

Supporting Women Through Access to Technology

Founded in 2001, iSisters is driven by a powerful mission: to connect women in need with technology through mentoring. Their programs are tailored to support women in shelters, halfway houses, and community centers—creating safe and supportive environments to learn, grow, and take the next step forward.

Access to technology is not a luxury—it is a necessity in today’s world. Whether it’s applying for jobs, pursuing education, or accessing essential services, digital literacy is foundational to independence and stability. By equipping women with laptops and training, iSisters helps remove critical barriers and opens doors to new opportunities.

One Device Can Change a Life

This donation was made possible through the generosity of our individual and corporate donors who continue to support ERA’s mission to reduce e-waste and bridge Canada’s digital divide.

Every device diverted from the landfill can mean a fresh opportunity for someone in need. We’re grateful to our donors whose continued support helps organizations like iSisters create meaningful change through technology.

You Can Help

Donating your unused or surplus electronics is a simple yet powerful way to make a lasting impact. Even a single device can be the key to someone’s education, employment, or reconnection with their community.
