Sustainable Tech for Social Impact: ERA Supports Lacrossing Barriers in Calgary

By electronic recycling association October 15, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to continue its mission of connecting communities through technology by donating a desktop computer, three laptops, and a printer to Lacrossing Barriers, a Calgary-based organization dedicated to empowering youth through sport, education, and inclusion.

This donation will help Lacrossing Barriers expand access to digital tools, enhance program coordination, and support their administrative and training operations — ensuring that technology continues to create opportunities rather than becoming waste.

Empowering Communities Through Shared Values

The mission of Lacrossing Barriers aligns closely with ERA’s vision of creating community impact through sustainability. Their vision is:

“To create a framework and network of sustainable adapted sports available to everyone, regardless of abilities or support needs.”

Just as Lacrossing Barriers works to remove obstacles in access to sport, ERA works to remove barriers in access to technology. By refurbishing and redistributing electronics across Canada, ERA ensures that valuable devices find new purpose — helping nonprofits, schools, and charities like Lacrossing Barriers achieve their goals while keeping e-waste out of landfills.

About Lacrossing Barriers

Lacrossing Barriers is a community-focused organization that uses the sport of lacrosse to empower youth, promote inclusion, and foster leadership skills. Their programs bring together young people from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing teamwork, confidence, and community engagement.

ERA is honored to support this inspiring initiative by providing the technology they need to strengthen their programs and continue building an inclusive future.
