Technology Donation Supports Hamilton/Burlington SPCA

By electronic recycling association August 10, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA (HBSPCA) through the donation of one refurbished laptop and one desktop computer.

This technology donation will provide additional digital resources to support the organization’s day-to-day operations and ongoing animal welfare work.

At the same time, the donation demonstrates how extending the life of reusable electronics can benefit Canadian communities while helping reduce electronic waste.

Supporting Animal Welfare Through Technology

Technology plays an important role in the daily operations of charities and non-profit organizations.

Reliable computers can help organizations manage administration, communicate with staff and volunteers, coordinate programs, maintain records, support fundraising initiatives, and connect with their communities.

By donating a laptop and desktop computer to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA, ERA is pleased to provide technology that can support the organization behind the scenes as it continues serving animals and the community.

For non-profit organizations, access to dependable technology can make an important difference, particularly when budgets must be focused on essential programs and services.

Giving Refurbished Electronics a Second Life

ERA works with businesses, organizations, and individuals across Canada to collect unwanted and surplus electronics.

Whenever possible, reusable equipment is assessed and processed for refurbishment rather than being immediately sent for recycling.

Suitable computers, laptops, monitors, and other devices can then be redirected through ERA’s Technology Donation Program to charities, schools, non-profit organizations, and community programs in need.

This reuse-first approach helps extend the useful life of electronics while creating additional social value from equipment that organizations no longer require.

The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA technology donation is another example of how responsible electronics reuse can support both environmental sustainability and community organizations.

Helping Canadian Charities Access Technology

Many charities depend on computers to operate effectively, but purchasing new equipment can place additional pressure on limited budgets.

ERA’s Technology Donation Program helps bridge this gap by connecting refurbished technology with organizations that can put it to meaningful use.

By providing refurbished technology, ERA helps organizations access practical digital tools while keeping usable electronics in circulation for longer.

Donate Your Unwanted Electronics to ERA

Businesses replacing or upgrading their technology can make a difference by donating unwanted electronics to ERA.

Through responsible electronics collection, secure data processing, refurbishment, and reuse, organizations can help reduce e-waste while supporting charities and community programs across Canada.

ERA also provides electronics recycling, secure data destruction, IT asset disposition, and pickup services for organizations looking for a responsible way to manage retired technology.

Technology Supporting Stronger Communities

ERA is proud to support the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA with one refurbished laptop and one desktop computer.

Through technology donations like this one, ERA continues working toward two connected goals: reducing electronic waste and providing Canadian organizations with access to useful technology.
