The need for tech is only increasing as our world continues to go digital. Now that people have started working from home due to the pandemic, staying connected through computers has become essential. ERA works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. We were pleased to assist 3 non-profits in BC with laptops.

Ozanam Recovery House is a 19-bed transition home located in Kelowna, BC for adult men who are struggling with addictions, mental health issues, or both. With a permanent staff 24/7, and a core group of volunteers, Ozanam Recovery House focuses specifically on those individuals who show motivation and desire to change.

Their vision is for a future where possibility, opportunity, and hope are the same for all men regardless of addiction. Their mission is to treat addiction and promote recovery through home, health, and hope. Ozanam recovery house provides assistance in many ways and making a computer lab accessible for the residents is just another way of helping these individuals reach their full potential.

ERA was happy to provide a laptop to replace their aged and malfunctioning device. “We cannot thank you enough for your support, thoroughness and dedication to what you do and how you support charities and non-profit agencies such as ours. In deep appreciation”, said Dawn McCormick.

Change Makers Education Society located in Prince Rupert, BC reached out to the ERA for technology that will enhance their literacy program and we were happy to provide them with 2 laptops.

The mission of this society is to help people acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to participate in creating a healthy community and lead a fulfilling life.

BC Schizophrenia Society (BCSS) provides education and support for families affected by serious mental illness. They offer powerful programs for those living with a mental illness as well as for the family members and children of those struggling with mental illness.

They have minimal equipment and it is very outdated so the ERA was glad to donate a laptop and projector. The donation will be used for course facilitation and presentations as well as delivering courses via Zoom or other web-based conferencing.

If you are looking to responsibly and securely dispose of your unwanted electronics, give us a call and we will work to refurbish and donate your devices to those in need!
