Town of Esquimalt Partners with ERA for Community Electronic Recycling Initiative

By electronic recycling association May 5, 2025

On April 22, 2025, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly partnered with the Town of Esquimalt to host a free electronics recycling event aimed at promoting sustainability and digital inclusion.

The event welcomed local residents and businesses to responsibly recycle their unwanted electronic devices. Items collected ranged from laptops and desktops to tablets, cellphones, and printers. These devices will now undergo certified data destruction, refurbishment, and redistribution to support charities across Canada.

Thanks to the strong participation from the Esquimalt community, a total of 1,045 lbs of electronics were diverted from landfills.

These contributions directly support ERA’s mission to reduce e-waste and bridge the digital divide by providing refurbished technology to nonprofits and individuals in need. With more than 500 Canadian charities currently on our waitlist, every donation makes a meaningful difference.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Town of Esquimalt for their collaboration and commitment to environmental stewardship. Community-driven events like this one are vital to building a more sustainable and connected future.
