Two Quebec Non-Profits Receive Laptops

By electronic recycling association August 21, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association was founded in 2004 in Calgary, Alberta. Over the past 16 years, we’ve been fortunate enough to expand into 6 more cities across Canada. A few years ago, we opened a warehouse in Montreal and have been able to serve the area more frequently. Since then, our team has helped hundreds of Quebec-based companies become more environmentally responsible by collecting and refurbishing their unwanted electronic equipment. Proudly, we’ve been able to refurbish many of the devices we collect.

The ERA donated 5 laptops to Carrefour pour Aînés Semi-Autonomes (CASA) – a non-profit organization based in Laval, Quebec. CASA provides certified residences for the elderly. The mission of CASA is to provide personalized support services to people looking for a care centre that will meet the needs of their elderly family members. For over 20 years, CASA provides upmost transparency. All staff members are subject to a strict code of ethics which allows the association to maintain an optimal quality of service. We’re excited that the laptops donated will assist the organization with their needs.

On the other side of the Prairies River in Montreal, the ERA has donated 10 laptops to La Puce Ressource Informatique. La Puce was founded in 1984 and offered introductory computer workshops to the general public. At the time, La Puce set up socio-professional integration projects for women wishing to return to the labour market after a prolonged absence. With the arrival of the Internet in the mid 90’s, La Puce created a Communications Project and since then has constantly adapted to new social realities alongside the rapid development of new technology.

With the coronavirus crisis, La Puce has been forced to continue their employability program online, however, many participants did not have a personal computer. ERA’s laptop donation helped La Puce continue their training remotely, and continues to allows for participants to enter the job market quickly.

“Thank you for responding positively to our request to help us continue our mission.”

The ERA’s focus is to assist organizations, charities, and individuals continue their mission and bring their vision to life by providing them with the necessary IT devices. Without the collections we receive, we would not be able to continue providing laptops, computers, printers, servers, IT accessories, and so much more to those in need. Help us continue our mission and consider booking a pickup of your unwanted electronics with the Electronic Recycling Association.
