On July 1, 2026, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was proud to participate in the Canada Day celebration at Sunset Community Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia, providing the community with free electronic recycling and sharing information about the importance of reusing technology.
Throughout the event, residents stopped by the ERA booth to responsibly recycle unwanted electronics while learning how retired technology can be given a second life. Through ERA’s reuse-first approach, many donated devices can be securely refurbished and provided to charities, non-profit organizations, schools, and individuals in need, helping bridge the digital divide while reducing electronic waste.
Our team also answered questions about secure data destruction, responsible electronics recycling, and the environmental benefits of extending the life of technology through refurbishment rather than disposal.
Community events like this are an important opportunity to raise awareness about sustainable electronics management and demonstrate how every donated device has the potential to create a positive social impact.
ERA would like to extend a sincere thank you to the City of Vancouver and the organizers of the Sunset Community Centre Canada Day celebration for inviting us to participate in this fantastic event. We are grateful for your warm hospitality and your dedication to bringing the community together while promoting environmental sustainability.
Thank you as well to everyone who visited our booth, recycled their electronics, and learned more about ERA’s technology donation and electronic recycling programs. Your participation helps protect the environment while supporting communities across Canada through the reuse of technology.
Together, we’re reducing e-waste, protecting our environment, and creating greater access to technology for those who need it most.
