Montreal’s Women on the Rise Receives Laptop Donation from ERA and Genetec

By electronic recycling association December 2, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to donate a refurbished laptop to Women on the Rise, a Montreal nonprofit supporting women and families. This donation was made possible through the ongoing support of Genetec, one of ERA’s long-time sustainability partners.

This donation will be going to Women on the Rise member’s daughter—who was recently accepted into the Girls Who Code camp.  This laptop will ensure that a young girl in Montreal has access to the technology required to join a STEM learning opportunity, helping remove digital barriers and opening the door to future skills development.

ERA extends a sincere thank-you to Genetec for enabling this donation. Through their continued commitment to environmental responsibility and community support, Genetec helps ERA deliver refurbished devices to charities, families, and students across Canada.

Organizations in need of refurbished laptops, desktops, or other devices are encouraged to apply through ERA’s national donation program. Corporate donors looking to support community initiatives while reducing e-waste can also partner with ERA to extend the life cycle of their retired electronics.

Your Organization Can Create Impact Too

With over 500 charities currently on ERA’s waitlist, the demand for technology continues to grow. CIOs and IT asset managers have a unique opportunity to drive real change by donating surplus or end-of-life equipment—including laptops, desktops, tablets, and projectors.

Your retired technology can empower students, nonprofits, seniors, newcomers, and vulnerable communities from coast to coast.
