Technology Donation Supports Growing Food Bank Demand in Mississauga

By electronic recycling association May 2, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Food Banks Mississauga through the donation of 3 desktop computers and 4 monitors, helping the organization replace outdated equipment and expand its operational capacity.

As demand for food support continues to rise across the region, access to reliable and updated technology has become essential. Food Banks Mississauga identified a need for new workstations and peripherals to replace end-of-life units that were limiting efficiency across key systems. With ERA’s donation, staff and volunteers now have improved tools to manage inventory, coordinate scheduling, and streamline daily operations.

The upgraded computers will play a vital role in supporting volunteer onboarding and coordination, ensuring that more individuals can be trained and scheduled efficiently. With increased volunteer participation, the organization can respond faster to community needs, process more data accurately, and maintain strong operational continuity across its food distribution network.

In addition, the enhanced hardware supports critical backend systems, including inventory management and scheduling platforms. These improvements allow Food Banks Mississauga to better track resources, optimize workflows, and ultimately serve more individuals and families facing food insecurity.

At ERA, we believe in “Reuse Before Recycling”—extending the life of electronics to create meaningful social impact. By refurbishing and redistributing donated technology, ERA helps reduce e-waste while empowering charities like Food Banks Mississauga with the tools they need to thrive.

This donation is a powerful example of how repurposed technology can directly strengthen community services. By bridging the digital gap, ERA continues to support organizations across Canada in delivering essential programs and reaching those who need it most.
