Secure IT Reuse Supports SHIP’s Community Services in Mississauga

By electronic recycling association May 20, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Services and Housing In the Province (SHIP) through the donation of a refurbished laptop and printer to help strengthen access to technology for vulnerable individuals in the community.

Based in Mississauga, SHIP is an exemplary accredited non-profit housing and health service provider that supports youth aged 16–29, seniors, individuals experiencing homelessness, people living in poverty, and those facing mental health and addiction challenges. Through its wide range of community programs and services, SHIP continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families across the region.

The donated technology from ERA will help support SHIP’s day-to-day operations and improve access to essential digital tools for both staff and clients. Reliable technology remains critical for organizations delivering housing support, health services, case management, communication, and community outreach programs.

ERA works with organizations across Canada to securely refurbish and reuse retired electronics, helping reduce electronic waste while expanding digital access to charities and non-profits in need. Donations like this one demonstrate how secure IT reuse can create both environmental and social impact within local communities.

By extending the lifecycle of electronics through refurbishment and reuse, ERA helps divert e-waste from landfills while supporting organizations that provide critical services to Canadians. Every donated device represents an opportunity to improve access to technology, strengthen community support programs, and advance sustainability initiatives.

ERA would like to thank SHIP for the important work they continue to do in supporting vulnerable populations throughout the Mississauga community.
