Corporate IT Donations Support Digital Literacy for Newcomers in Manitoba

By electronic recycling association July 15, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Humanitarian Solidarity for Development and Empowerment (HSDE) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with the donation of 10 refurbished laptops.

The donated laptops will help launch HSDE’s Community Computer Hub, providing immigrant and newcomer youth, along with women in the community, with free access to computers and digital skills training. The program will offer daytime and evening sessions focused on computer literacy, job readiness, and essential technology skills.

Access to reliable technology is critical for education, employment, and connecting with essential services. This donation will help participants build the digital skills needed to pursue new opportunities, improve employability, and foster greater independence while helping bridge the digital divide.

Through its technology donation program, ERA works with businesses, government agencies, and organizations across Canada to refurbish and donate reusable computers to charities, schools, and community organizations. By extending the life of electronics, ERA not only reduces electronic waste but also creates meaningful opportunities for people and communities.

ERA is proud to partner with Humanitarian Solidarity for Development and Empowerment and support their efforts to promote digital inclusion, education, and economic empowerment for newcomers in Winnipeg.
