Camp Specializing in Bereavement Care Receives Donated Laptop

By electronic recycling association June 9, 2020

ERA was happy to provide a laptop to the non-profit organization Camp Kerry, who supports children, youth, adults, and families impacted by serious illness, grief & loss. They were so impressed with the donation they received last year that they were grateful to get another laptop for their accounting purposes.

With partners like Imperial Oil, ERA is fortunate to be able to provide organizations with technology that offer support and counseling to navigate the profound impact grief has on us all. If you work for a company interested in having ERA refurbish your unwanted IT equipment, book your pick up online and we will reuse whatever has life left and make sure that it gets into the hands of those who need it most.

The Camp Kerry Program Model embraces a holistic approach to bereavement care where emphasis is placed on healing both within and between families. Through their programs/services, they aim to foster a community of belonging that provides grieving families with memorable and positive experiences of connection, healing, and hope.

Their programs are delivered through applying evidence-based methods and holistic therapies that recognize bereavement as an ongoing process rather than a series of predetermined emotional stages that people move through in a predictable and orderly fashion.

The Camp Kerry Model identifies individuals and families through an ecological framework. They recognize that each person is unique, that they themselves change over time, as do their family systems and mechanisms of support. It is their mission to provide education, support, and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups who are grieving the death of a loved one or coping with a life-threatening illness.

With camps in BC, Ontario, and the Atlantic, they have many different programs, workshops, and events. Visit their website here to discover one near you.
