Canadian Peacemakers International Receives 30 Computers!

By electronic recycling association September 9, 2021

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to partner with Canadian Peacemakers International to collect IT hardware for their school initiative. They have been actively reaching out to local businesses in Edmonton and ERA has been refurbishing these items to be donated to students in Honduras. We are proud to have provided 30 desktop computers to help the children with the IT equipment they need to be successful.

Canadian Peacemakers International is a charitable organization for creating effective, self-sustaining models for peace-building. They believe that by addressing economic inequality, lack of education, and other problems, they can reduce the reasons for conflict in Honduras. They also believe these ideas can also work elsewhere and actively share their learning with other organizations.

CPI envisions flourishing communities where integrated community development practices lead members to live in harmonious relationships with each other and their environment, enjoying the security of land ownership, sustainable local economies, good health and peaceful security.

CPI collaborates with marginalized communities in Central America, contributing resources, knowledge and support to their pursuit of positive change through programs of education, agriculture and food security, land ownership and leadership development.

The ERA (Electronic Recycling Association), is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and/or environmental impact through effective management of retiring electronic and IT equipment.  As a non-profit organization with deep community roots, it is our “reuse” focus and donation activities that set us apart from others in this sector. We are an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 Certified Company that offers pickup services, comprehensive data security measures and subsequent reporting. Individuals and organizations alike move through technology hardware for a number of different reasons, and often there is ongoing productive use.

The ERA believes that “reuse” where ever possible is the most ecological approach to this growing stream, and an excellent way to compel real community goodwill at the same time. The Electronic Recycling Association has a clear mission of reducing electronic waste through computer recycling, laptop recycling and computer donation services. With depots throughout Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and all of Canada. ERA provides a great way to recycle electronic equipment safely and securely.
