By electronic recycling association December 12, 2025

As part of the Electronic Recycling Association’s (ERA) national 12 Days of Christmas Tech Donations, ERA is proud to announce the donation of a laptop, projector, and a printer to Autism Family Friends in Vancouver, British Columbia.

This technology donation supports Autism Family Friends’ mission to deliver inclusive, accessible, and community-focused programming for autistic children and their families across the Lower Mainland.

Supporting Inclusive Programs Through Access to Technology

Autism Family Friends operates as a grassroots, volunteer-run organization, relying largely on personal devices and borrowed equipment to run its programs and events. Access to reliable technology is essential for organizations like Autism Family Friends to effectively serve their community.

The donated equipment will significantly increase the organization’s capacity to deliver tech-supported programming, ensuring events are engaging, accessible, and empowering for both children and caregivers.

Specifically, the donated technology will be used to:

  • Support caregiver workshops and community presentations using the projector
  • Assist with event planning, volunteer coordination, and communications through the high-end laptop
  • Produce printed resources, visual schedules, and caregiver materials using the printer

These tools will help Autism Family Friends operate more efficiently while delivering meaningful programming to over 100 families throughout the Lower Mainland.

Bridging the Digital Divide for Families and Community Organizations

Many community organizations face ongoing barriers when it comes to accessing updated technology. ERA’s donation helps reduce these barriers by extending the life of electronics through responsible reuse while ensuring they are placed where they can create real impact.

By providing refurbished technology to Autism Family Friends, ERA is helping strengthen the organization’s ability to support autistic children and caregivers with resources that promote inclusion, understanding, and community connection.

ERA’s Commitment to Technology Reuse and Community Impact

This donation reflects ERA’s continued commitment to:

  • Reducing electronic waste through reuse
  • Extending the lifespan of technology
  • Supporting charities and nonprofits with essential IT equipment

Through initiatives like the 12 Days of Christmas Tech Donations, ERA works with community organizations across Canada to ensure refurbished electronics are used to create positive social impact rather than ending up in landfills.

Organizations across Canada can support ERA’s mission by donating surplus or retired electronics. Together, we can reduce e-waste, protect the environment, and ensure technology reaches those who need it most.
