The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has donated 10 laptops to the African Canadian Social Development Council (ACSDC) in Toronto. This donation aims to facilitate the council’s annual conference, where volunteers will provide crucial IT support for workshops dedicated to combating racism.
The conference serves as a pivotal platform for in-depth discussions and explorations into the complexities of anti-Black racism. Through brainstorming sessions and the exchange of experiences and information, participants aim to develop actionable strategies and recommendations to effectively tackle racism within their communities.
ACSDC, based in Toronto and established in 2002, is an umbrella organization for over 150 African-Canadian community agencies and cultural organizations that provide culturally appropriate services to the African-Canadian community in Ontario. The African Canadian Social Development Council is involved in research, community development, advocacy, education, and relief aid services.
The ERA’s commitment to this cause underscores its dedication to leveraging technology for social good. By equipping ACSDC volunteers with essential tools, ERA enables them to enhance the conference experience and support meaningful dialogue on combating systemic issues.

The ERA’s mission to support non-profits with affordable technology is driven by the belief that technology should be an enabler, not a barrier. We invite other organizations and individuals to join us in this cause. Through donations and support, we can collectively make a significant impact, ensuring that more non-profits have the tools they need to succeed.
