Bring Your Unwanted Electronics
Do you have old electronics sitting at home?
Bring them to the Sustainable Living Expo and visit the ERA electronics collection area.
ERA will accept a variety of unwanted electronics, including:
- Computers and laptops
- Monitors
- Phones and tablets
- Keyboards and computer accessories
- Cables and chargers
- Other electronic equipment
Our team will collect the electronics and determine whether they can be reused or recycled.
Whenever possible, ERA focuses on reuse first. We refurbish suitable equipment and give it a second life.
As a result, reusable technology may support charities, schools, non-profits, and community organizations through ERA’s donation programs.
If equipment cannot be reused, ERA will direct it to responsible recycling.
Why Electronics Reuse Matters
Technology can often remain useful long after its original owner no longer needs it.
Instead of leaving old electronics in storage, residents can give them another purpose. Reusing technology helps extend the life of electronic equipment and reduce unnecessary waste.
It can also create a direct community benefit.
For example, refurbished computers and laptops can help organizations that need technology to support their programs, staff, students, or community members.
Therefore, responsible electronics management is about more than recycling. It is also about finding opportunities to reuse valuable technology whenever possible.
Meet the ERA Team at the Expo
ERA will also have a booth at the Sustainable Living Expo.
Visitors are welcome to stop by, meet our team, and learn more about ERA’s programs and services.
Our team can provide information about:
- Electronics reuse and recycling
- Secure data destruction
- IT asset disposition
- Technology donations
- ERA’s Computer Grant Program
- Community electronics collection events
- Youth technology programs
- Sustainability initiatives
Businesses can also speak with our team about unwanted office electronics and retired IT equipment.
Whether you have one old laptop or a larger amount of equipment, we would be happy to explain how ERA can help.
Supporting the Circular Economy
Reuse plays an important role in creating a more circular economy.
Instead of treating electronics as waste, ERA looks for ways to keep useful technology in circulation.
First, our team evaluates reusable equipment. Then, suitable devices can be refurbished and redirected to organizations in need.
At the same time, equipment that has reached the end of its useful life can move into responsible recycling channels.
This approach helps reduce electronic waste while creating additional value from existing technology.
Community events such as the Sustainable Living Expo also make responsible disposal more accessible. Most importantly, they give residents an easy way to take action.
Thank You to Dalhousie Community Association
ERA would like to sincerely thank the Dalhousie Community Association and the Sustainable Living Expo team for inviting us to participate.
We greatly appreciate the opportunity to bring an electronics collection component to this event.
Partnerships like this help ERA connect with more residents and raise awareness about responsible electronics management.
In addition, they help us collect more reusable technology. That means we can potentially refurbish more equipment and support more organizations through our donation programs.
We are very grateful to the Dalhousie Community Association for supporting this initiative and welcoming ERA to the Expo.
