ERA Donates 12 Devices to Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association

By electronic recycling association December 4, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to assist the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) with 10 donated desktop computers and 2 cellphones. These computers are critical in order for the residents to have the technology to enhance their skills, complete educational programs, housing searches, and employment searches while increasing their capacity for independence and growth.

Moreover, as the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the shelter to implement a lockdown, the residents’ wellness would greatly benefit from virtual social connection as they are not permitted to leave the building to see their family and friends.

Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) is a non-profit organization that is a culturally diverse settlement agency that recognizes, responds to, and focuses on the unique concerns and needs of immigrant and refugee women, girls, and their families. Over the years, they have continually responded to the emerging needs of immigrant women and girls, developed innovative programs, established meaningful partnerships, and have come to be recognized as a provincial and national leader in outcome-based gender-specific settlement services.

ERA knows the importance of CIWA and we share in their mission is to engaging and integrate all immigrant women and their families in the community.  We are glad we could help such an amazing association!

The Electronic Recycling Association is committed to making electronic recycling beneficial for everyone including the environment! If you have any leftover electronic devices that you no longer need, or are not working as it should be, then we will take them off your hands, refurbish them, before giving them to charities across Canada.

We strive to meet reasonable requests for IT and related equipment, such as computers, laptops, projection equipment, printers, phones and related peripherals. Our goal is to fulfill every single reasonable request for a computer donation that we receive, and we are thrilled to announce that we are getting close to achieving this goal. Since 2004, we have donated thousands of computers to Canadians in need and this number grows daily.

Your donation can make all the difference to someone, as well as helping to reduce the impact of e-waste. Be part of the solution by donating your devices today. Call us at 1877-9EWASTE to book a pickup.
