ERA Donates Laptop to London Cross Cultural Learner Centre

By electronic recycling association August 11, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support the London Cross Cultural Learner Centre (CCLC) with the donation of a refurbished laptop.

This technology donation will help support CCLC’s work with newcomers and contribute to greater access to reliable digital tools within the London, Ontario community.

Supporting Newcomers Through Technology

The London Cross Cultural Learner Centre provides settlement services and support to newcomers while promoting intercultural awareness and understanding. Its programs include newcomer orientation, community connections, language-related services, employment support, youth programming, and other settlement resources.

Access to a reliable laptop can make an important difference for people starting a new life in Canada.

Technology can support:

  • Online learning and skills development
  • Employment searches and applications
  • Access to settlement and government services
  • Communication and community connections
  • Building digital skills and independence

ERA is pleased to provide technology that can help strengthen this important community work.

Giving Refurbished Technology a Second Life

ERA works to reduce electronic waste by collecting, securely processing, refurbishing, and redistributing reusable technology to charities, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations across Canada.

By extending the useful life of laptops and other electronics, ERA helps keep reusable technology out of the waste stream while creating meaningful social impact.

Each refurbished device represents an opportunity to connect someone with technology they may otherwise have difficulty accessing.

Technology Donation Creates Community Impact

This donation to CCLC reflects ERA’s commitment to both environmental sustainability and digital inclusion.

CCLC’s Community Connections program, for example, brings newcomers and long-time Canadian residents together and offers activities focused on skills development, including computer skills.

ERA is proud to support organizations that are helping newcomers build connections, develop skills, and establish themselves in their communities.

Turn Unwanted Electronics Into Opportunities

Businesses and organizations often have laptops, computers, monitors, and other IT equipment that are no longer needed but may still have useful life remaining.

ERA provides electronics recycling, secure data destruction, IT asset disposition, and technology donation solutions designed to give suitable equipment another opportunity for reuse.

Instead of allowing usable technology to become electronic waste, organizations can work with ERA to help redirect refurbished equipment to communities in need.
