The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated 6 refurbished laptops to United for Literacy to help support online literacy tutoring programs for learners in the Toronto community.
The donated laptops will provide learners with access to reliable technology so they can attend virtual literacy tutoring sessions, complete educational activities, and continue building essential reading and writing skills from home.
Access to technology remains a major barrier for many individuals and families across Canada. Through ERA’s computer donation and electronics reuse programs, retired IT equipment is securely refurbished and redistributed to charities, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations that need technology support.
By extending the life of electronics through reuse, ERA helps reduce electronic waste while creating meaningful social impact in communities across Canada.
United for Literacy works to improve literacy access and educational opportunities for learners of all ages. The organization’s online tutoring initiatives help connect individuals with educational support and resources that can positively impact their future opportunities and personal development.
ERA is proud to support organizations like United for Literacy that are helping bridge the digital divide and ensuring more Canadians have access to the technology needed for education and personal growth.
As artificial intelligence, online learning, and digital services continue to grow, access to computers and reliable technology has become increasingly important. Donations like these help ensure learners are not left behind due to lack of access to devices.
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) continues to work with businesses, organizations, and individuals across Canada to securely recycle electronics, provide certified data destruction services, and refurbish reusable devices for charitable donation programs.
Businesses with retired laptops, desktops, monitors, tablets, and other IT equipment are encouraged to partner with ERA to help support local charities and community organizations while responsibly managing electronic waste.
