ERA Supports Two Quebec Organizations with 26 Devices

By electronic recycling association August 28, 2020

2020 has proven to be a very difficult year for the majority of Canadians for varying reasons.

Since launching in 2004, the Electronic Recycling Association has always had the vision of fostering a better community by enabling those in need by providing various electronic devices for their needs. This year’s pandemic and the shutdowns that followed hasn’t stopped us from continuing to provide organizations with electronics so they can continue to serve the communities they operate in. At the ERA, our goal is to respond to every reasonable donation request we receive.

Chapelle de la Restauration reached out to the ERA requesting devices that will be used towards running their church’s community activities. This church organization is focused on guiding new immigrants through their integration into the Canadian culture and society. The ERA is excited to donate 2 laptops, 2 computers, 1 printer, and 1 projector to support Chapelle de la Restauration with their mission.

Centre de pediatrie sociale de verdun is an organization that assists families in maintaining contact with Les petits renards professionals. This year, Les petits renards has been assisting families remotely over video conferencing. When the shutdowns were put in place, the organization requested laptops from the ERA. The Centre de pediatrie sociale de verdun noticed that many families did not have a way to stay connected with Les petits renards. Proudly, the ERA has provided 10 laptops to families through the Centre de pediatrie social de verdun.

With the novel coronavirus creating a “new normal” in our world, many organizations have reached out to the ERA this year requesting devices for the families and individuals they support. Countless programs have quickly shifted to being based online. The ERA is proud to have helped – and continue to help – countless organizations by providing laptops, printers, projectors, and more to individuals and organizations in need.

Of course, every donation the ERA is able to provide would not be possible without the gently used electronics we receive. Not only does dropping off your unwanted electronics to the ERA provide us with the ability to refurbish and donate them, it also creates a better environment for our future. As humans, reusing what we can reduces the amount of new materials that need to be harvested to create a shiny new electronic device.

Do some good for the environment and support your community by booking a pickup with the ERA!
