The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to continue supporting Unity Kitchener through our Computer Grant Program with the recent donation of a refurbished Dell laptop.
The donation is another example of how electronics reuse can create meaningful community impact while extending the useful life of technology.
For charities and nonprofit organizations, access to reliable computers is essential for communication, administration, community programming and connecting people with important resources. Through ERA’s Computer Grant Program, reusable technology collected from businesses and organizations can be refurbished and given a second life instead of becoming electronic waste.
Giving Technology a Second Life
Unity Kitchener has previously received technology through ERA and recently reached out again when an additional computer was needed.
Through ERA’s Computer Grant Program, the organization received a refurbished Dell laptop and kindly shared a photo with us to celebrate the donation.

How ERA’s Computer Grant Program Supports Canadian Communities
ERA works with businesses and organizations across Canada to collect retired and unwanted electronics.
Whenever suitable equipment can be reused, ERA prioritizes refurbishment and donation. Computers, laptops and other technology can then be provided to eligible charities, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and community programs through the ERA Computer Grant Program.
Instead of treating every retired device as waste, ERA looks for opportunities to extend its useful life.
