However, their essential work was hampered due to a critical issue: their outdated computer system had crashed, leaving their dedicated staff with no choice but to rely on personal devices during their busiest seasons.
Each summer, as their hotline through Telus buzzes with daily calls, the staff found themselves using their own cell phones and laptops to manage the influx of inquiries. The clinic’s aging computer, which housed crucial patient information, was also on the verge of failing, posing a serious threat to their operation. While these devices were originally donated to the organization, they consistently experienced technical issues, making it difficult for the clinic to maintain its day-to-day operations efficiently.
For an organization that cares for more than 2,700 patients annually, the need for reliable hardware is not a luxury but a necessity. The invaluable patient data is stored on the clinic computer, underscoring the urgency of having fast and dependable equipment.
