Kidney Care Centre Receives a Laptop

By electronic recycling association November 21, 2018

London Health Sciences Centre is an academic hospital, committed to improving health and delivering value for citizens of London, the South West Region and beyond. Building on their tradition of leadership, stewardship and partnership, they champion patient-centred care, with a spirit of inquiry and discovery, and a commitment to life-long learning.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a diagnosis for which there is no cure. People living with CKD require accurate information and good support to live well with chronic illness. This can be obtained from the many staff involved in their care at their medical appointments. However, the challenge for renal programs is to have information and support that is directed from the clients perspective. Improving the experience of patients with kidney disease is one of LHSC’s strategic initiatives currently under development.

We were delighted to donate a laptop to a patient at the Kidney Care Centre. The recipient will use this device to search on the internet and use Microsoft. This donation will support the patient struggling to cope with adjustment to illness, who would like to spend four hours of treatment, 3 times a week working on a project or a business that she would like to develop.

Thank you for our letter of appreciation!
