On June 6, 2026, the Meadowgreen Community Association, in partnership with the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), will host a free community electronics recycling event in Saskatoon. This family-friendly initiative encourages residents to responsibly recycle unwanted electronics while helping protect the environment and support technology reuse programs.
Many households and workplaces have outdated computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, and other electronic devices collecting dust in storage rooms, basements, and garages. Unfortunately, when electronics are improperly discarded, valuable materials are lost and harmful substances can end up in landfills. Events like this provide a safe and environmentally responsible solution.
Why Electronics Recycling Matters
Electronic waste, or e-waste, is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. By recycling electronics through responsible organizations like ERA, communities can:
- Reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills
- Prevent harmful materials from entering the environment
