Montreal Nonprofit Benefits from ERA’s Electronic Recycling Donation

By electronic recycling association May 16, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support SIDA BÉNÉVOLES MONTRÉAL / AIDS Community Care Montreal (ACCM) with the donation of six laptops. This donation is part of ERA’s ongoing mission to bridge the digital divide while promoting environmental sustainability through electronic reuse.

Technology Access for Critical Community Services

ACCM provides essential services to Montrealer’s living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C – including case management, harm reduction programming, volunteer coordination, and virtual support. Like many nonprofits, ACCM faces limitations in operational funding, making it difficult to invest in updated technology.

Many of their staff were using computers that were over a decade old, running outdated systems incompatible with modern tools and posing risks to data security.

“Reliable, up-to-date laptops are no longer a luxury for our organization – they are a necessity,” ACCM shared. “These devices are essential for client care, secure communications, and effective program delivery.”

The laptops provided by ERA will enable ACCM to continue its digital transformation, enhancing service delivery, safeguarding client confidentiality, and improving internal workflows. These devices will be instrumental in helping ACCM build the digital infrastructure needed to meet the scale and urgency of its mission.

Recycling Electronics, Powering Communities

This donation reflects ERA’s core values: extending the lifecycle of electronics, reducing e-waste, and supporting Canadian charities with the tools they need to thrive. Through initiatives like this, we help frontline organizations operate more efficiently while keeping technology out of landfills.
