New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is partnering with the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) to offer free electronics recycling and data destruction on April 13th, 2024 from noon to 4:00 pm in the parking lot at City Hall, located at 511 Royal Ave, New Westminster, BC, V3L 1H9.
Spring cleaning is an ideal time to get rid of unwanted electronics while protecting your electronic data and personal information.
ERA will data clean your items, and then recycle or refurbish the equipment. Items can be dropped off through the drive-through pick up or you can park and unload your items with the help of our volunteers.
“Some families may have electronics that are simply taking up space and gathering dust, but they haven’t disposed of them because they’re aware they contain personal information,” stated Crime Prevention Coordinator Emma Palmer. “By taking these old electronics to this recycling event you can have peace of mind your data is wiped clean and you’re protected.”
