Event Details

Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026

The collection will also include 85 Range Road, which connects to 99 Range Road through the shared parking lot.

Community Electronics Collection in Ottawa

ERA and SCAN Ottawa are working together to make electronics recycling simple and accessible for local residents.

Community members can bring unwanted or outdated electronics, including:

  • Computers and laptops
  • Monitors and TVs
  • Phones and tablets
  • Printers and office equipment
  • Cables and accessories
  • External hard drives
  • Other unwanted or non-working electronics

By participating in the event, residents can keep old electronics out of landfills and help ensure that equipment is handled responsibly.

Secure Data Handling

Many electronic devices contain personal or sensitive information. ERA understands the importance of protecting that data.

Although mobile hard drive shredding will not take place on-site at this event, residents can still bring computers, laptops, external hard drives, and other data-containing devices.

ERA will securely collect the equipment and transport it for proper processing and secure data destruction.

Where applicable, ERA can also provide documentation such as Data Destruction Certificates, Recycling Certificates, and Serial Number Reports after processing.

Giving Electronics a Second Life

ERA focuses on reuse whenever possible.

Instead of sending every device directly for recycling, ERA identifies reusable electronics that may be suitable for refurbishment. Those devices can then receive a second life through ERA’s technology donation programs.

Refurbished technology may support charities, nonprofits, schools, and community organizations that need access to computers and other equipment.

This approach helps reduce electronic waste while creating additional value for communities.

ERA and SCAN Ottawa Working Together

This event is also an opportunity to highlight the partnership between ERA and Seniors for Climate Action Now (SCAN Ottawa).

By working together, community organizations can make responsible electronics recycling more convenient while encouraging residents to think about reuse, waste reduction, and the circular economy.

ERA will support the event with collection logistics, secure handling of electronics, recycling services, and promotional materials.

Bring Your Unwanted Electronics

If you live at 85 or 99 Range Road, we invite you to participate in the community electronics collection on October 17.

Bring your unwanted electronics and let ERA take care of the rest.

Together, ERA and SCAN Ottawa are helping give electronics a responsible next step while supporting a cleaner and more sustainable community.
