Free Electronics Recycling in Truro

Electronic waste continues to be one of the fastest-growing waste streams, making responsible reuse and recycling increasingly important.

At the Living Earth Council Care & Repair Market, ERA will accept a variety of unwanted electronics, including:

  • Laptops and desktop computers
  • Monitors
  • Cell phones and tablets
  • Printers and office electronics
  • Cables and accessories
  • Gaming electronics
  • Small electronic devices
  • Other eligible electronics

By participating in this Truro electronics recycling event, residents can help divert unwanted technology from landfill while giving reusable devices an opportunity for refurbishment and a second life.

Secure Data Destruction for Collected Electronics

Responsible electronics recycling also means protecting personal and business information.

ERA securely processes data-bearing devices using established data destruction and data erasure procedures. Where applicable, devices may undergo secure data wiping or physical hard drive destruction.

This helps ensure that sensitive information stored on old computers, laptops, and other devices is handled securely before equipment is reused or recycled.

Supporting Sustainability Through the Care & Repair Market

The electronics collection is part of the Living Earth Council’s broader Care & Repair Market, a community initiative focused on repair, reuse, waste reduction, and sustainable living.

The event gives residents practical ways to extend the life of everyday items, reduce waste, and make more environmentally responsible choices.

ERA’s electronics collection supports these goals by helping community members properly manage unwanted technology while promoting the principles of the circular economy.
