ERA, Western Residents’ Association & Horseshoe Bay Business Association invites you to take action and reduce our environmental impact!

DATE: Saturday, February 12, 2022

LOCATION: Sewell’s Parking Lot, 6409 Bay St., Horseshoe Bay

TIME: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

ELECTRONIC RECYCLING – FREE

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) will be on site collect your unwanted electronics! We will take and assess them to see if there is reuse potential. Any end of life items will be recycled through our local provincial recycler. As an added bonus, you’ll be supporting a great cause. Not only are you advocating environmental responsibility, you’re helping the ERA continue to make valuable computer donations to local charities and individuals in need. Well done!

ERA will accept any of the following items, at no cost. Complimentary data removal will be applied to necessary equipment:

  • Tablets
  • Smart Phones
  • Cell Phones
  • Home Phones
  • Handheld Electronics (Mp3 Players, Gaming Consoles etc)
  • Stereo Equipment
  • Gaming Equipment
  • Monitors
  • Personal Computers (desktop and laptop)
  • Mice
  • Keyboards
  • Printers
  • Digital Cameras
  • Computer Parts
  • Misc. Cables
  • External Hard Drives
  • USB Keys & Other Storage Devices

Please be advised that the following items will not be accepted:

  • Personal Electronics (Shavers, Toothbrushes etc.)
  • Household Appliances (Microwaves, Blenders, Toasters etc)
  • Kitchen Appliances (Refrigerators, Stoves)
  • Large Televisions

Experts suggest you shred: Cancelled cheques; ATM and Credit card receipts; Old credit cards; Credit Card Offers; Old Bank statements; Bills; Tax records and receipts (keep for 7 years); Medical records and bills (keep for a year in case of disputes); Pay stubs (keep for a year)

Keep the most recent version of: Security Statements, Annual Insurance Policy Statements, Retirement plan statements (but shred the rest).
